Our activities cover instrumental research and development with emphasis on
adapting of novel detection methods used on ground for explorations in space.
We apply and utilise specialized radiation and test facilities to
characterise new instruments, materials and components that are designed
to operate either in harsh radiation environments in space or
in accelerators and particle physics experiments
Several our devices fly on such space observatories like
XMM-Newton or RHESSI. Set of radiation monitors developed together with
our partners from industry and European Space Agency is placed on
INTEGRAL, Rosetta, PROBA1 and Giove B (GPS) missions. Our current
activities include the design of a new generation radiation monitors
with the low energy electron detector LEED. We are also involved in
development of a novel hard X-ray polarimeter POLAR.
